The Mighty Americans Program invites 4th–6th grade students to become part of America’s story by portraying notable Americans during the American Eras Parade on July 4, 2026. Students will walk along the parade route dressed as historical figures who shaped our nation’s legacy through courage, leadership, innovation, and service.
The Mighty Americans Project brings history to life through the imagination, creativity, and energy of children. As part of Huntsville’s America’s 250th celebration and inspired by the spirit of the Semiquincentennial school initiatives, this experience allows young people to become part of the story by dressing as notable Americans from throughout history.
From presidents and astronauts to inventors, athletes, civil rights leaders, entertainers, and pioneers, children will transform the parade route into a fun and educational celebration of American history, leadership, courage, and innovation.
Our goal is to create unforgettable memories for families while inspiring the next generation to dream big, lead boldly, and recognize that the next Mighty American could be walking in the parade today.
